Wonderful weekend retreat at John Paul II.

The retreat focused on the First Week of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and was directed by Father Aaron Pidel, S.J, a Jesuit of the Province of New Orleans who has spent the last year serving as a Parochial Vicar at the Gesu Catholic Church in downtown Miami.

Thirty-nine men from different countries, of different ages and residing in different cities came together at the Ignatius House Retreat Center in North Atlanta to learn how to better pray and how to become better friends with Jesus. Men from Spain, Mexico, El Salvador, Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Perú, Colombia, and the United States; men ranging in age from 18 to more than 80 years; men who live in San Juan, Houston, Charleston, Texas, Miami, New Jersey, Spain and, of course, Atlanta.

ACU Atlanta continues to incorporate new methods and technology for "Aspirante" formation while it teaches the ACU's basic principles. Ramiro Rodríguez, Instructor for ACU Atlanta, travels very frequently as a result of a recent promotion in his job. Ramiro was scheduled to give the Instruction on “The Personal Vocation of the Agrupado” on June 30 to the ACU Atlanta group but he had to visit the company’s headquarters for a meeting.

Board Meeting: June-2011

The Board of Directors ("Consejo General") met the weekend of June 3-5 at the Miami Headquarters to review the status of the ACU and determine what actions should be taken to move the ACU forward.

There were 22 participants from the ACU chapters in Atlanta, Miami, NJ/NY, San Juan, and Washington. Father Pedro Suárez, SJ, agrupado, President of Belén and Superior of the Miami Jesuits participated in the meeting on Saturday. Father Pedro challenged us to reflect and plan for the ACU in the spirit of St. Ignatius meditation on the "3 Binarios".
