Christians are sometimes intimidated by the atheist and secular society to remove religious symbols from public property, under the false pretense that their display is illegal or even unconstitutional. All aspects of religion are currently under attack to the extreme of demanding that religious activities be limited to the interior space of a church or the sanctity of our homes. Ultimately; the secular goal is to abolish all forms of religious expression.

The Nativity Scene located on Ponce Circle Park at 2810 Ponce De Leon Blvd. in Coral Gables, has been a tradition by Dr. Enrique Cantón for several years.

In 2010, Dr. Cantón asked me to engage Emilio Falero in the design of a new Nativity Scene. Through Falero's artistic vision, the carpentry skills of my brother Xavier Cáceres, Dr. Cantón's efforts to convince the city to build the display, help from numerous other volunteers, the funding by an anonymous donor and the unconditional support of our families, it all became a reality. This portrayal of Our Lord Jesus Christ's birth is a modern expression to defend our faith and the founding trust of this Country in God.

After working all day building the Nativity scene I told Dr. Cantón that the results truly merit a blessing. Almost immediately and unexpectedly, a divine sprinkling of rain fell on us. I told Dr. Cantón: "I think we just got our blessing."
