The San Juan group of the ACU saw its start in 1960, beginning with a few recently-arrived agrupados that met on a regular basis to pray and discuss religious and apostolic matters. A year later, Father Llorente went to Puerto Rico to give the group Spiritual Exercises, providing an impetus for further growth. While over time, the San Juan group has seen many of its members move to Miami or other parts of the United States, it has established a strong reputation throughout the island for its annual Spiritual Exercises, which continue to form the base of its apostolic work.
