
The first chapter of the ACU in the United States was established in Miami in 1961 after being forced from Cuba. The Miami house moved to its permanent location on Biscayne Bay in 1964. Miami is home to the ACU's spiritual director Amando Llorente S. J. The John Paul II retreat house and the Jesus Maestro student residence are both located in Miami. December marks the "Immaculada" the feast of the Immaculate Conception in Miami, where Agrupados from all the groups come to celebrate. Traditionally, the Immaculada celebration in Miami is where Men are made Consecrated members of the ACU.
