Levels in the ACU

There are different levels or stages that must be undergone before a candidate could be considered an Agrupado (a full fledged member of the Agrupacion):

  • The first stage is what's known as Visitante. This stage is when a candidate is visiting the Agrupacion for the first couple of times, trying to get a feel for what the Agrupacion is.
  • The second stage is what is called Postulante. In this stage, the candidate has a basic knowledge and understanding of what the Agrupacion is, and what its ideals and goals are. By this time, the candidate interacts well with the other members of the group, and is interested in what the Agrupacion has to offer.
  • The third stage is when the candidate knows and understands the Agrupacion, and makes a conscious decision to have the Agrupacion as an integral part of his life. This stage is known as Aspirante, as the candidate is aspiring to reach the ultimate level of a full member of the ACU: Congregante. During the Aspirante stage, the candidate focuses on perfecting the spiritual life through learning about the faith and going on the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
  • The final stage is marked by the candidate making an official Consecration to Mary, thereby resulting in the candidate being known as a Congregante.
